With nearly 900,000 legal residents, the Moroccan population is the largest foreign community in Spain. However, this figure does not fully capture the extent of their presence: more than 260,000 Moroccans have been naturalized as Spanish citizens since 2013, without losing their original nationality in the eyes of Morocco. With demographic growth, a strong regional presence, and issues surrounding naturalization, Moroccans in Spain form a community in transition.
