London-based Moroccan journalist Ayoub Errimi passes away

Moroccan journalist Ayoub Errimi passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, in London after a long battle with cancer.

Born in 1990 in Kenitra, Morocco, Errimi graduated from the Higher Institute of Information and Communication in Rabat in 2013 with a degree in audiovisual journalism. He began his career at several Moroccan media institutions, including Hespress newspaper, before relocating to London, where he worked as a correspondent for Al Jazeera.

While in London, Errimi launched the «Here is London» podcast on YouTube, featuring interviews with prominent figures, including British historian Jerry Broughton and Professor Amir Al-Nimrat, head of the Artificial Intelligence Department at East London University.

Errimi participated in media events, delivering presentations on interpretative journalism and its importance in contemporary media. He also contributed to discussions at Al Jazeera Media Institute about the journalist's role in news analysis and broader context-setting.
