17.56.قُلِ ادْعُواْ الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُم مِّن دُونِهِ فَلاَ يَمْلِكُونَ كَشْفَ الضُّرِّ عَنكُمْ وَلاَ تَحْوِيلاً

17.56. Dis : «Invoquez ceux que vous prétendez être des divinités en dehors de Dieu. Ils ne peuvent ni vous guérir du mal ni vous en préserver.»

17.56 . Say : Cry unto those ( saints and angels ) whom ye assume ( to be gods ) beside Him , yet they have no power to rid you of misfortune nor to change .

17.56. Quli odAAu allatheena zaAAamtum min doonihi fala yamlikoona kashfa alddurri AAankum wala tahweelan

17.57.أُولَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ يَبْتَغُونَ إِلَى رَبِّهِمُ الْوَسِيلَةَ أَيُّهُمْ أَقْرَبُ وَيَرْجُونَ رَحْمَتَهُ وَيَخَافُونَ عَذَابَهُ إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ كَانَ مَحْذُوراً

17.57. Or, ceux qu'ils invoquent recherchent eux-mêmes à l'envi le moyen de se rapprocher le plus de leur Seigneur, espérant Sa miséricorde et redoutant Son châtiment. En vérité, le châtiment de ton Seigneur est redoutable.

17.57 . Those unto whom they cry seek the way of approach to their Lord , which of them shall be the nearest ; they hope for His mercy and they fear His doom . Lo! the doom of thy Lord is to be shunned .

17.57. Ola-ika allatheena yadAAoona yabtaghoona ila rabbihimu alwaseelata ayyuhum aqrabu wayarjoona rahmatahu wayakhafoona AAathabahu inna AAathaba rabbika kana mahthooran

17.58.وَإِن مَّن قَرْيَةٍ إِلاَّ نَحْنُ مُهْلِكُوهَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُوهَا عَذَاباً شَدِيداً كَانَ ذَلِك فِي الْكِتَابِ مَسْطُوراً

17.58. Il n'est point de cité injuste que Nous ne fassions périr, avant le Jour de la Résurrection, ou dont Nous ne soumettions les habitants à de terribles châtiments, sans que cela soit tracé dans le Livre de toute éternité.

17.58 . There is not a township but We shall destroy it ere the Day of Resurrection , or punish it with dire punishment . That is set forth in the Book ( of Our decrees ) .

17.58. Wa-in min qaryatin illa nahnu muhlikooha qabla yawmi alqiyamati aw muAAaththibooha AAathaban shadeedan kana thalika fee alkitabi mastooran

17.59.وَمَا مَنَعَنَا أَن نُّرْسِلَ بِالآيَاتِ إِلاَّ أَن كَذَّبَ بِهَا الأَوَّلُونَ وَآتَيْنَا ثَمُودَ النَّاقَةَ مُبْصِرَةً فَظَلَمُواْ بِهَا وَمَا نُرْسِلُ بِالآيَاتِ إِلاَّ تَخْوِيفاً

17.59. Rien ne Nous empêche d'envoyer des miracles, si ce n'est que les anciens les avaient déjà traités de mensonges. Nous avions bien apporté aux Thamûd la chamelle qui était un vrai miracle, mais ils la tuèrent injustement . Du reste, Nous n'envoyons les miracles qu'à titre d'avertissement.

17.59 . Naught hindereth Us from sending portents save that the folk of old denied them . And We gave Thamud the she camel a clear portent but they did wrong in respect of her . We send not portents save to warn .

17.59. Wama manaAAana an nursila bial-ayati illa an kaththaba biha al-awwaloona waatayna thamooda alnnaqata mubsiratan fathalamoo biha wama nursilu bial-ayati illa takhweefan

17.60.وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لَكَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ أَحَاطَ بِالنَّاسِ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلاَّ فِتْنَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَالشَّجَرَةَ الْمَلْعُونَةَ فِي القُرْآنِ وَنُخَوِّفُهُمْ فَمَا يَزِيدُهُمْ إِلاَّ طُغْيَاناً كَبِيراً

17.60. Rappelle-toi que Nous n'avons cessé de te dire que ton Seigneur contrôle souverainement les hommes. Quant à la vision que Nous t'avons montrée, elle ne l'a été qu'à titre de tentation pour les hommes, tout comme l'arbre maudit mentionné dans le Coran. Mais plus Nous les menaçons, plus leur rébellion s'aggrave.

17.60 . And ( it was a warning ) when We told thee : Lo! thy Lord encompasseth mankind , and We appointed the vision which We showed thee as an ordeal for mankind , and ( likewise ) the Accursed Tree in the Quran . We warn them , but it increaseth them in naught save gross impiety .

17.60. Wa-ith qulna laka inna rabbaka ahata bialnnasi wama jaAAalna alrru/ya allatee araynaka illa fitnatan lilnnasi waalshshajarata almalAAoonata fee alqur-ani wanukhawwifuhum fama yazeeduhum illa tughyanan kabeeran
