Amir a ecris:

It’s OK amir to hate it and to find it vulgar, I’m not surprised at all; you hate a lot of other things and lots of people too. If we all are going to base our decisions on the same basis you did, then we should really hate French language because at one point, not long time ago, I must add, they occupied morocco and committed horrific crimes against our grand parents in morocco, and while we’re there, let’s hate Spanish language because at one point they occupied parts of morocco and recently our Sahara, would you like me to tell you what the Spaniards did to our brothers in the Sahara before 1975? So, in your view, we should hate that language too! By the way Sebta and Mlilia could be added to the list.
It just doesn’t make any sense to hate a language because of government decisions and political views; I’m totally with the opposite view that sees no future for countries that do not learn languages and cultures regardless of the language origin.
I need not to remind you that, computer sciences, medicine, economy and other sciences are not just in Arabic, but a multitude of languages, and that some countries are way head of us, and that it’s in our interest to learn from them.
I love to see schools in morocco specialize in every language possible to enable our future generations to learn to live with, to interact with and do business with other nations, it’s the only way out of poverty and despair that our children know so much about.
No amir, in this one, I STRONGLY disagree and have no room for view like the ones you try to pass on.
By the way, I’m against the war on Iraq just like you are and like many Yabiladiens/nes.

Salam findme,

Concerning the food you were talking about, a have seen once in the tv that japanese eat fish alive but it didnt chocked me at all, eating dogs or mouses is worser! Can you tell me if many people consume that or only a minority? Thank you. In Belgium, we have many moroccan snacks, restaurants, pubs...and tunisian, pakistan, turkish,...we have everything you need. I imagine that in japan there is nothing from Morocco, it s normal, you hasnt the idea of opening a moroccan restaurant or something like that there, i think it s a good business... but of courses very difficult in the beginning.
Yes, of cousrse i would like to continue the study of japanese, but the pb is that i havent practise the language since june, month of the exam. And i have forgotten everything but i think when i will be in belgium, it will be more easy...but i have missed 4 months, it s so much, i will see...i hope to follow it. I like it so much! And thank you for your proposition to help me, i will tell you lately, ok? Within 1 year, i can go to stydy in Japan during 1 year but i dont know if i will do it...1 year is a very long time without seeing family and friends, and i dont know if there is place in the university...

Thank you.
hi tangawiya
thanks for the idea of opening the moroccan restaurant business, but I am not here for business, I go to college, and between school and part-time jobs, I have really no time for such matters, but the idea is here, and if anyone wants to start such a business you are more than welcome to try, I will be gald to help, at least with the language.
Concerning your plans to come study in japan, I encourage you to do that, practice is the best way to learn a language, I know that in some universities, including the one I go to, have one year exchange programs with a bunch of universities abroad, not only for the language study, buy also in your own field of study, check it out with your univesity. So the program would go like this, you come here for a year, you barely have 3 or 4 classes in your own subject, plus one class of japanese almost everyday, you will have field trips where you go visit the historical monuments and stuff, it s like a year of vacation if you are in that kind of program, classes are pretty easy, practically no exams and just casual reports most of the time, and I even know some moroccan students who joined the program from the european universities they belong to, one of them was even from belgium.
Good luck with all that if you want to apply, and I will be glad to help
cheers

Hi findme,
you should have a good idea about translation too the fact that you live in Osaka, I'm sure Japanese text also will loose some of its meaning when translanted, don't you think?
cheers,

hi almot,
I am not familiar with translating written documents, but the spoken japanese language does actually lose a lot of its meaning if one tries to translate it in another language, some words in japanese just dont exist in other languages, or at least in the languages I know.
I am still thinking about the question: is thinking governed by language
I am not sure until which extent thinking is influenced by the language learned or spoken at the moment, but I would rather say that behavior is somewhat influenced by the language spoken. For example I would behave almost like japanese girls do when I am talking in japanese with japanese friends. I would behave like foreigners when I am with foreign friends talking in English, but I am still not sure how much that is linked to thinking, since I think that I am not really thinking, in a way that I am not aware of myself when I am talking to friends I feel comfortable with, but it is becoming a kind of automatic, when talking to people in their language, and knowing their culture, I just can`t help behaving just like one of them, and I really have no clue why, whether it is the language or the place I am in.
I know that my opinions dont change according to the language I express them in, but behavior can`t help being influenced.
How about you almot? and people who live in other places than europe? I think it is a bit different, am I wrong? the distance from one`s native country does have sth to do here doesn`t it?

hi chireen

sure you can ask me whatever questions you want I ll try to answer them as I can

I took an exam for a program organized by the Japanese embassy in morocco, it worked out and here I am.

I have always wanted to study artificial intelligence and I didnt think that I would have been offered a better opportunity to do that than come study it in a place where lots of universities offer courses concerning the subject.

Hello findme,

Thank you for your answer. I thought you were working in Japan and not there for studies. I read the answer to Chireen, i had the same question, now i know why you are there. Thank you.

I were speaking about the business of restaurants because i see its a real success in cities or countries where there are nothing from morocco. I have a cousin who lives in England in a city where they have no idea of the moroccan and he opens a moroccan restaurant-pub, food and decor from morocco and now he is renovating another local to open another. It s a great business!

And thank you for your encouragement, i will see. I m so interesting but i have heard there is only a place for each university.

I thank you for all.

Hi Tangawiya
the openings for international students in japanese universities are unlimited.
There a whole bunch of programs and opportunities. Just to give you an example, we are two and a half moroccans in the university where I go, plus 10% of the students are international students. So courage, if you really wanna come, try hard
good luck

Ok, good morning everybody and I really hope to have many responses and sincere ones.

I am wondering and amazzing about the path of curret relationships between a man and a woman. It seems it is goverened by sexuality and nothing else than this subject to the point that i do no longer believe in such relationship.

What has happened during these last years, I remember that around 1994-95, there were platonic relations, and you could spend the whole day with your boy friend without takling such subject, and without being in a defensive position vis a vis your friend.

But for the time being, it becomes very difficult and i thing that this is the bad influence of the satellite dish, and the bad movies.

May be i am wrong, but iam awaiting your comments and your advice in this regards, because i am enough of such situation, nad enough of always trying to explain to these men that there is not only sex in life and that a relationship could never be build upon such idea.

Thanks for your comments,

Nadia

Wow !!!nisrina,

Since I'm a man, and since it's my duty to defend men, and since you sound really angry at men, and since whatever I say is going to sound bad, and since I'm afraid that you get mad at me, I'm just going to take the fifth, if you see what I mean!
Only until tomorrow when I can sit down and give you my real opinion.
cheers,
