The United Arab Emirates will open a consulate in Laayoune, becoming the first Gulf state to take such a decision.
The latter was announced, Tuesday, during a phone call between King Mohammed VI and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the Royal Palace said.
The United Arab Emirates’ step comes as 15 African countries have also opened consulates in Morocco’s southern provinces, mainly in Laayoune and Dakhla.
On Tuesday, Zambia and Eswatini both opened consulates in Laayoune.
