Morocco's Right of Access to Information Commission (CDAI) has signed a memorandum of understanding with The Gambia's Information Commission to strengthen cooperation on promoting and implementing the right of access to information, local media reported on Monday.

According to a statement by the Gambian commission, the agreement covers the exchange of expertise and best practices, as well as cooperation on conferences, research and capacity-building programs.

The agreement was signed as The Gambia's Information Commission secured unanimous admission to the African Network of Information Commissions (ANIC). Quoted in the statement, Omar Seghrouchni, president of Morocco's Right of Access to Information Commission, said collaboration and partnerships are essential to building trust in the digital economy and expressed confidence in greater harmonization between African institutions.
