The Morocco of the Future Association has called on the Competition Council to launch an immediate investigation into what it described as suspected anti-competitive practices by Centrale Danone following recent price increases on several of the company's dairy products.
In a statement, the association said it had sent an official letter on July 13, 2026, to the president of the Competition Council, with copies addressed to the head of government, the ministers of the interior, industry and trade, and economy and finance, as well as the governor of Khouribga province.
The association argued that the 50-centime increase on essential dairy products is unjustified at a time of declining purchasing power. It also claimed that, given Centrale Danone's alleged dominant position in the market, the move raises concerns over a possible abuse of market dominance and violations of competition law.
It urged the Competition Council to investigate the matter and take the necessary legal action if any violations are confirmed. The association also called on Centrale Danone to reverse the price increases and show greater social responsibility.
Finally, it held the government politically, administratively and morally responsible for the continued decline in purchasing power, arguing that consumers must be protected from what it described as «monopoly lobbies».
