Coronavirus in Morocco : 1,777 new cases and 37 deaths

1,777 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 440,970.

2,134 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 409,638.

37 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 7,425. 17 of these deaths were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat, 5 in Marrakech-Safi, 4 in Souss-Massa, 3 in Khénifra-Béni Mellal, 2 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma, 2 in the Oriental, 2 in Fès-Meknes, 1 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, and 1 in Drâa-Tafilalet.

The country has 23,907 active cases, including 1,093 in critical conditions. 97 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat comes first with 686 cases: 496 in Casablanca, 42 in Mohammedia, 40 in El Jadida, 31 in Berrechid, 30 in Nouaceur, 20 in Settat, 17 in Médiouna, 7 in Sidi Bennour and 3 in Benslimane. Next comes Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma with 309 infections: 147 in Tanger-Assilah, 50 in Tétouan, 39 Al Hoceïma, 29 in Larache, 19 in M'diq-Fnideq, 15 in Chefchaouen, 5 in Al Fahs Anjra and 5 in Ouezzane.

Rabat-Salé-Kénitra follows with 176 cases: 49 in Kénitra, 47 in Skhirat-Témara, 37 in Salé, 14 in Khémisset, 10 in Rabat, 10 in Sidi Kacem and 9 in Sidi Slimane. Souss-Massa has 149 cases: 48 in Agadir Ida Ou Tanane, 37 in Inezgane Aït Melloul, 35 in Tiznit, 16 in Chtouka Aït Baha and 13 in Taroudant.

Marrakech-Safi recorded 143 new cases: 83 in Marrakech, 29 in Essaouira, 17 in Kelâa des Sraghna, 6 in Safi, 6 in Chichaoua and 2 in Al Haouz. The Oriental region recorded 95 cases: 34 in Berkane, 27 in Oujda-Angad, 16 in Nador, 7 in Taourirt, 5 in Guercif, 4 in Jerada and 2 in Driouch.

Fès-Meknes recorded 58 cases: 15 in Fez, 11 in Meknes, 10 in Taza, 10 in Sefrou, 11 in Taounat and 1 in El Hajeb. Beni Mellal-Khénifra confirmed 53 new infections: 20 in Beni Mellal, 12 in Fkih Bensalah, 11 in Khouribga, 9 in Azilal and 1 in Khénifra.

In Drâa-Tafilalet, 40 cases were confirmed: 20 in Ouarzazate, 17 in Errachidia, 2 in Zagora and 1 in Tinghir. Laâyoune-Es Sakia El Hamra confirmed 35 cases: 20 in Laâyoune, 10 in Boujdour, 4 in Tarfaya and 1 in Es-Semara.

Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab recorded 18 new cases, all in Oued Ed-Dahab. Guelmim-Oued Noun recorded 15 cases: 12 in Tan Tan and 3 in Guelmim.
