Morocco’s Royal Navy and US Navy conduct new military exercise

The Royal Navy and the US Navy have conducted a new military exercise, dubbed «Atlas Hanshake», in Moroccan waters, the United States Embassy in Rabata announced on Twitter. The training brought together the frigate Allal Ben Abdellah and Destroyer USS Porter.

«This exercise demonstrates the enduring strength of the U.S.-Moroccan partnership, and our commitment to ensuring regional stability and security», the same source explained.

This training comes after commander of US Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa Major General Micheal E. Langley spoke by telephone, last week, with Vice Adm. Mostafa El-Alami, Royal Moroccan Navy Inspector.

The two parties «pledged to seek new opportunities for cooperation and to support regional stability by strengthening the professionalism and capabilities of the region’s naval and amphibious forces».
