Morocco may need to wait a few days more before receiving the «made–in-India» AstraZeneca vaccine, Times of India reported on Thursday.
The same source indicated that India will have first to «sharpen its vaccine diplomacy to derive geopolitical and strategic gains», before shipping vaccine doses to countries like Morocco and Brazil.
According to the same source India is yet to improve landing rights for aircraft being sent to pick up the vaccine shipment. The country prefers to ship off the first vaccine consignments to its immediate neighbors.
«It will be a matter of days before vaccine exports can begin to Brazil and others like Saudi Arabia, Morocco and South Africa», it concluded.
It is possible that Air India would transport the vaccines to Brazil and Morocco instead of their planes flying to the country.
