Covid-19 in Morocco : 444 new infections and 7 deaths on Friday

444 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 491,019. 4,258,813 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far, while 2,352,348 people have received the second.

507 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 478,386.

7 deaths were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths to 8,755. 3 of these deaths were recorded in Casablanca-Settat, 1 in Marrakech-Safi, 1 in Souss-Massa, 1 in Fes-Meknes and 1 in Guelmim-Oued Noun.

The country has 3,878 active cases, including 401 in critical conditions. 25 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 285 infections: 236 in Casablanca, 20 in Nouaceur, 9 in Settat, 8 in Mediouna, 8 in Mohammedia, 2 in El Jadida and 2 in Berrechid. Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 31 cases: 10 in Salé, 7 in Skhirat-Témara, 7 in Sidi Kacem, 5 in Rabat and 2 in Kénitra.

Marrakech-Safi follows with 24 cases: 18 in Marrakech, 2 in Safi, 2 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 1 in Essaouira and 1 in the province of Al Haouz.  24 infections were recorded in the Oriental region: 11 in Oujda-Angad, 8 in Nador, 3 in Berkane and 2 in Taourirt.

Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab confirmed 20 new cases, all in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab. Souss-Massa confirmed 17 new infections: 8 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul, 5 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 3 in Tiznit and 1 in Chtouka-Ait Baha.

16 cases were recorded in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (11 in Tanger-Assilah, 3 in Chefchaouen, 1 in Tetouan and 1 in Al Hoceima), 10 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra (8 in Khouribga, 1 in Khenifra and 1 in Fqih Bensaleh) and 10 in Drâa-Tafilalet (8 in Errachidia and 2 in Tinghir).

Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra confirmed 5 new infections (3 in Laâyoune and 2 in Boujdour), 1 case in Meknes (Fès-Meknès) and 1 other in Assa Zag (Guelmim-Oued Noun).
