Covid-19 in Morocco : 587 new infections and 7 deaths on Friday

587 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 504,847. 4,583,664 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far, while 4,180,155 people have received the second.

555 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 490,366.

7 deaths were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths to 8,934. 3 of these deaths were recorded in in Casablanca-Settat, 2 in Rabat-Sale-Kenitra, 1 in Marrakech-Safi, 1 the Oriental region and 1 in Guelmim-Oued Noun.

The country has 4,992 active cases, including 430 in critical conditions. 15 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 410 infections: 286 in Casablanca, 45 in Nouaceur, 21 in Mohammedia, 17 in El Jadida, 16 in Médiouna, 14 in Berrechid, 9 in Settat and 2 in Benslimane. Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 50 cases: 15 in Sale, 13 in Skhirat-Témara, 8 in Rabat, 7 in Sidi Kacem, 6 in Kénitra and 1 in Khemisset.

Marrakech-Safi follows with 39 cases: 30 in Marrakech, 3 in Rehamna, 3 in Safi, 2 in Essaouira and 1 in Youssoufia. 23 infections were recorded in Souss-Massa: 16 in Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane, 4 in Inzegane-Aït Melloul, 2 in Taroudant and 1 in Chtouka-Aït Baha.

Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma recorded 19 new infections: 16 in Tanger-Assilah, 1 in Tétouan, 1 in M'diq-Fnidek and 1 in Larache. Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab confirmed 17 cases, all in Oued Ed-Dahab. Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra recorded 9 cases: 6 in Laâyoune and 3 in Es-Semara.

Beni Mellal-Khénifra confirmed 6 cases: 4 in Khouribga, 1 in Beni Mella and 1 in Azilal. The Oriental region recorded 6 cases: 4 in Oujda-Angad and 2 in Nador. Fès-Meknes recorded 5 new cases: 3 in Fez and 2 in Meknes. Guelmim-Oued Noun confirmed 3: 2 in Guelmim and 1 in Assa Zag.
