The US Department of State has made public the Agreement between the United States of America, Morocco and Israel, signed on December 22, 2020 at the Royal Palace in Rabat in front of King Mohammed VI.

Publishing the document that contains the United States' recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara is a positive move towards Morocco.

It gives credit to the revelations made following the first official phone call between Antony Blinken and Nasser Bourita. On April 30, Axios reported that the Secretary of State had told his Moroccan counterpart that the Biden administration does not plan to cancel the recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara.

This step comes as Antony Blinken phoned the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs. It also coincides with the unprecedented crisis between Morocco and Spain.

«The Biden administration contacts the Moroccan government in the middle of the Ceuta crisis to talk about Palestine and Israel», wrote Spanish newspaper El Periodico.
