The Kenyan government was quick to respond to senators’ call to normalize diplomatic ties with Morocco, by opening an embassy in Rabat. Kenyan Cabinet secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts Ababu Namwamba received, Tuesday, his «SADR counterpart» Hassinatou Mohamed Achbal, reports the Polisario press agency.

The Kenyan official reaffirmed to his guest his country's support for the self-proclaimed «SADR» and its commitment to concluding partnerships in the fields of youth and sports, adds the same source. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the African Youth Days that the Kenyan government is organizing.

The meeting is in line with the position adopted by senior representatives in power in Nairobi regarding the Western Sahara question. For the record, the president of the Lower House, Moses Wetangula, responded in his own way to the «Call from Tangier» demanding the expulsion of the so-called «SADR» from the African Union by insisting, last November during a meeting with the Polisario representative in Nairobi, on «the importance of keeping the Sahrawi Republic on the AU agenda and its membership» in the continental organization.
