A man storms Moroccan consulate in Italy and threatens personnel with box cutter

A 29-year-old Moroccan man with a criminal record stormed on Tuesday, January 16th, the Moroccan Consulate in Naples, Italy, causing distress and threatening personnel with a box cutter.

Local online newspaper Napoli Today reported that police were called to intervene after the man broke into the consulate, posing a potential threat to himself and others. The individual resisted arrest while brandishing the box cutter, but was eventually disarmed and detained.

Napoli Today further reports that the man faces charges of property damage, bodily harm, resisting a public official, and carrying a prohibited weapon.
