In Spain, Vox is mobilizing its sections in a new campaign against Morocco. The group of deputies from the far-right party in the Parliament of the Autonomous Region of Valencia has called on the Sanchez government, in a proposal, to «request the immediate suspension of the agricultural agreement between Morocco and the European Union, due to the enormous economic losses that the said agreement causes to the production and the Spanish and Valencian agri-food industry».

This regional initiative by supporters of Santiago Abascal comes a few weeks after Vox deputies in the House of Representatives at the national level presented a similar proposal on December 15th. «Clear damage to Spanish agri-food production» was put forward to justify the request.

«Morocco's tomato exports exceed those of Spain on the world market. Morocco increases its sales by 38.05% while those of Spain fall by 23.97%», underlined the authors of the text.

Vox had already called for the suspension of the agricultural agreement between Morocco and the EU during the diplomatic crisis between Rabat and Madrid in 2021, following the hospitalization of the leader of the Polisario in Spain.
