Moroccan police bust sex blackmail ring, arrest three suspects

On Sunday, the judicial police in Wadi Zem dismantled a criminal network of three individuals aged 28-35: a man with a criminal record, a woman, and her husband. They were suspected of fraud, extortion, and sexually explicit content blackmail.

A security source revealed that the first suspect, wanted nationwide, lured victims into video calls, recorded them in compromising positions, and demanded cash or cryptocurrency to prevent release. Intensive investigation led to his capture.

Home searches seized three mobile phones with blackmail evidence, a vehicle, and a substantial sum of suspected illicit funds.

Further investigation led to the arrest of the second suspect and his wife in Ben Guerir, who managed four money transfer agencies. They're suspected of facilitating victim payments in exchange for a share. Searches seized two phones with evidence of their involvement.

All suspects are held pending an investigation supervised by the public prosecutor to uncover the full scope of the operation, identify any additional crimes, and apprehend any remaining collaborators.
