The Polisario Front is participating in the Sfax International Exhibition for Handicrafts and Crafts in Tunisia, which will be held from January 31 to February 4.

According to the Polisario news agency, the Front is represented at the exhibition by the «Directorate of Traditional Industries and Crafts of the Ministry of Economic Development».

Since President Kais Saied took office in October 2019, there have been developments in Tunisia's stance on the Western Sahara conflict that have impacted its relationship with Morocco. Notably, in August 2022, President Saied received Polisario leader Brahim Ghali, who participated in the Japanese-African summit upon invitation from the Tunisian government.

This move generated tension between Morocco and Tunisia, leading Morocco to recall its ambassador for consultations. Morocco views the reception of the Polisario leader as a departure from Tunisia's previous neutral position on the conflict and considers it «a dangerous and unprecedented act that deeply offended the feelings of the Moroccan people». In response, Tunisia also recalled its ambassador.
