A heatwave is expected to affect several Moroccan provinces from Saturday to Monday, the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) said in an orange-level weather alert bulletin.
With temperatures ranging between 44 and 46°C, the heatwave will affect the provinces of Oued Ed-Dahab, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Tata, Zagora and Boujdour.
The same weather conditions, with temperatures between 40 and 44°C, are forecast in the provinces of Taza, Taroudant, Tinghir, Khouribga, Fquih Ben Salah, Settat, El Kalaa des Sraghna, Jerada, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, Beni Mellal, Boulemane and Guercif.
Over the same period, temperatures ranging from 38 to 40°C will affect Essaouira.
