Morocco boosts aerospace hub ambitions at Farnborough Airshow 2026

Morocco is participating in the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, which kicked off Monday in the United Kingdom, aiming to solidify its status as a premier aerospace hub.

The Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE) has set up a special Morocco pavilion for the event, featuring manufacturers, innovative start-ups, the Moroccan Aerospace Industries Group (GIMAS), and Casablanca’s Institute of Aeronautics Professions (IMA).

The trust shown by international corporations, highlighted through significant strategic investments, reinforces the robustness and competitiveness of Morocco’s offerings. These are underpinned by key strengths including the nation’s stability, strategic proximity to major markets, top-tier infrastructure, a high-performing industrial setting, and a vast reservoir of highly skilled talent backed by a tailored training system.

Over the last two decades, Morocco has developed a comprehensive aerospace ecosystem that covers the entire value chain: precision machining, assembly, sheet metal work, composite materials, wiring, surface treatments, and maintenance. Currently, the sector boasts over 155 companies, generates nearly $3 billion in exports, employs upwards of 25,000 skilled workers, features a local integration rate of 42%, and enjoys average annual growth of 17%.

Through this dynamic strategy, Morocco is reinforcing its role as a leading industrial, logistics, and technology hub, ready to support sector transformation, meet the demands of major contractors, and contribute to the resilience and sovereignty of global supply chains.

With more than 1,400 exhibitors and over 400 official delegations, the Farnborough International Airshow serves as a crucial platform for manufacturers, equipment suppliers, investors, and industry leaders.
