King Mohammed VI congratulates Spain's King Felipe VI on World Cup victory

King Mohammed VI has sent a message of congratulations to King Felipe VI of Spain following the Spanish national football team's triumph at the 23rd FIFA World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.

In his message, King Mohammed VI extended his warm congratulations to the Spanish monarch and, through him, to the Spanish people, describing the victory as a major sporting achievement that further confirms Spain's prominent place in world football.

«As I join the Moroccan people in sharing with you and the Spanish people the joy and pride inspired by this second World Cup title won by your neighboring and friendly country, I wish to commend the determination and competitive spirit displayed by your young national team throughout the tournament, qualities that enabled them to lift the World Cup with distinction and merit», the King wrote.

King Mohammed VI also reiterated his congratulations to King Felipe VI and wished continued success and international recognition for Spanish football.
