On Tuesday evening, members of the Judicial Police in the Kenitra Security Province, in collaboration with the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance, thwarted an attempt to smuggle a significant amount of drugs. The operation resulted in the arrest of two individuals, aged 25 and 38, one with a prior criminal record. Both are suspected of involvement in a drug smuggling network.

A report from the General Directorate of National Security stated that the arrest occurred at the traffic control point at the entrance to Kenitra. The suspects arrived in a utility vehicle from a northern city. A search of the vehicle revealed a boat, two marine engines, two GPS devices, a white weapon, and most importantly, 65 packages of chira, weighing a total of two tons and 145 kilograms.

The authorities have placed the suspects in police custody while the judicial investigation continues under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor. The investigation aims to identify any accomplices and dismantle the entire criminal operation.
