The National Agency for the Regulation of Cannabis-Related Activities (ANRAC) reports a substantial increase in activity for the first four months of 2024 compared to 2023.

ANRAC issued 2,905 cultivation licenses in 2024, a significant jump from 609 in 2023. The total cultivated area has also grown to 2,552 hectares (286 Ha in 2023).

Over 2,700 authorizations were granted to farmers in the designated regions for cannabis cultivation.

Compared to 2023, ANRAC issued more authorizations for various activities like processing, marketing, export, and transport of legal cannabis products.

Both Beldia seeds (domestic) and imported seeds are being used for cultivation.

Over 40 cannabis products, including cosmetics and food supplements, have been submitted for registration with the Ministry of Health. As of April 23rd, 2024, seven products have received official approval.

The first legal exports of cannabis products (CBD resin and flowers) have been made to Switzerland, with more shipments planned.

Established under Law 13.21, ANRAC regulates all aspects of Morocco's legal cannabis industry, including cultivation, production, processing, and export. The agency also supports research and aims to transition illegal activities to a legal and sustainable framework.
