The French president has been on a state visit to Saudi Arabia since Tuesday. On the sidelines of this trip, Emmanuel Macron participated in the «One Water» summit, held on Wednesday, December 3, in Riyadh. In a speech, the head of state praised Morocco's experience with water highways, calling it a «great success».

«Morocco has been able to mobilize all technologies and face challenges in rural areas and cities», he commended in front of the conclave participants, including the head of government, Aziz Akhannouch.

Moreover, this is not the first time the French president has publicly praised Morocco's water management policy. «I want to commend the resolute action that is yours on the issue of water and adaptation. I believe few countries have met this challenge with as much determination, innovation, and water highways», he stated on October 29 in Rabat, in his speech before the Moroccan Parliament.

«Access to water, to drinking water, access to sustainable irrigation are essential, and Morocco, in this respect, has much to teach the rest of the world», the French president added.
