In a thrilling showdown on the final day of the UEFA Champions League group stage, Ismael Saibari emerged as a pivotal figure in PSV Eindhoven's 3-2 triumph over Liverpool.

The English club initially seized the lead with a penalty converted by Cody Gakpo in the 28th minute. However, PSV quickly responded when Johan Bakayoko equalized in the 35th minute. Liverpool's Harvey Elliott restored their lead in the 40th minute, but Moroccan international Saibari leveled the score just before halftime in the 45th minute. In added time, Ricardo Pepi secured the home side's advantage.

The decisive moments of the match unfolded in the first half, setting the stage for the remainder of the game. Despite Liverpool's efforts in the second half, PSV's defense, bolstered by Saibari's contributions, remained resolute. Saibari exited the field in the 75th minute to a standing ovation from fans, who celebrated his spirited performance.

The Reds concluded the match with ten players after Amara Nallo received a red card for a tackle on Johan Bakayoko. PSV Eindhoven's victory ensures they finish fourteenth in their group, securing a spot in the Champions League play-offs.

This milestone marks another chapter for Moroccan internationals at the club level, following Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) commanding 4-1 victory over Stuttgart the same day. With PSG, Achraf Hakimi continues to shine as a key player, also advancing to the play-offs.
