A court in Rabat sentenced a YouTuber to four months in prison for filming the Prince Moulay Abdellah Complex without permission using a drone.
The court also imposed a fine of 41 000 dirhams, payable to the Directorate of Customs and Indirect Taxes. Additionally, the drone, four batteries, and the remote control were confiscated for the same directorate, and the accused was ordered to pay the minimum costs for enforcement.
Investigations revealed that the accused entered the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex disguised as a worker, wearing a helmet to conceal his identity, and launched the drone to film the stadium without authorization. The authorities became aware of the footage and the false information published, including his claim that Algeria would not be able to play at the Rabat Post Stadium, which was designated to host African Cup of Nations matches, according to Al-Sabah newspaper.
Although questioned, the accused refused to disclose the identity of the person who sold him the drone, and the judicial police were unable to determine the seller's identity.
