The attempt by four MEPs and their companions to enter Laayoune amounts to «uncontrolled agitation», Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said in Rabat on Tuesday.

During a press briefing alongside his Cape Verdean counterpart, Bourita emphasized that Morocco fully exercises its sovereignty over its entire territory, including its southern provinces. He noted that Laayoune, like the rest of the country, welcomes millions of visitors each year, including officials and official delegations, without restriction—citing the recent visit of the President of the French Senate as an example.

«All visits to Morocco, whether official, touristic, or professional, follow clear rules», he stated, adding that those who abide by them are welcome, while those who do not are subject to the applicable laws.
