The Moroccan and French armies are conducting a joint military exercise called Scorpion. «Approximately 300 paratroopers from the special forces of both nations are participating in this training, which is taking place from March 2 to 13 at the Benguerir airbase and in the Oukaïmden mountains», a Moroccan source told Yabiladi.
«These maneuvers are primarily aimed at enhancing the operational and tactical capabilities of the paratroopers from the Royal Armed Forces and the French army, particularly in terms of infiltrating enemy lines and combating terrorism», the same source added.
The armies of both countries had already organized the 30th edition of the naval exercise Chebec in October 2024. They are also preparing for the military maneuvers Chergui 2025, scheduled for September in Errachidia, which has angered Algiers.
