Casablanca's Mohammed V airport has removed double passport screening for international passengers with the installation of automatic gates, as announced in a press release by the Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA). This change, which aims to improve passenger flow, was implemented over the weekend and will be extended to all airports in Morocco by June 2025.
The transition to automatic gates, a collaborative effort by the Direction Générale de la Sûreté Nationale (DGSN), the Ministry of the Interior, and ONDA, will streamline border checks, reduce queues, and enhance travel efficiency. This initiative is part of the Airports 2030 strategy, which focuses on modernizing airport infrastructure while maintaining security.
In line with this strategy, Mohammed V airport also relocated its inspection devices, scanners, and gates earlier in March to further reduce long queues and optimize passenger flow.
