Finance bill 2026 proposes 36,895 new jobs with focus on interior and health ministries

The Finance bill for the year 2026, presented this Monday, October 20, before both Houses of Parliament by the Minister of Finance and Economy, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, outlines the creation of 36,895 budgetary positions.

The 2026 Finance bill allocates 13,000 new jobs to the Ministry of the Interior, followed by the Ministry of Health with 8,000 positions. The National Defense Administration ranks third with 5,500 new recruits for the 2026 fiscal year. The Ministry of Finance will benefit from 2,600 additional positions next year.

In contrast, the Ministry of National Education is expected to have only 397 budgetary positions. This figure does not include the thousands of contract jobs through the regional academies of the said department.

Both Houses of Parliament will begin examining the Finance bill with a view to its adoption in the coming weeks. The 2026 Finance bill marks the last budget proposal of the government led by Aziz Akhannouch. Moroccans are preparing for new legislative elections next year.
