Wydad Casablanca is set to take a major step in boosting its media presence by entrusting the management of Wydad TV to French sports journalist Alexandre Ruiz. According to media outlets close to the club, the project could be developed in partnership with the streaming platform DAZN.
Born in Casablanca in 1975 to Spanish parents, Alexandre Ruiz is a well-known sports commentator and television and radio presenter. A graduate of the Toulouse School of Journalism, he began his career at AFP in Toulouse before joining Canal+, where he specialized in Spanish La Liga coverage and later commentated on Champions League matches.

On Europe 1, Ruiz hosted several flagship sports programs and covered numerous historic games. He also presented the show L’Étoffe des champions on France 3 before moving to beIN Sports, where he became one of the network’s most recognizable faces. He left the channel in 2021 to explore digital media, first on Twitch and later as host of a program on the web TV LeStream.
In parallel, Ruiz continues to cover football competitions on his YouTube channel. In 2022, he joined the telecommunications operator Free, which holds the broadcasting rights for Ligue 1.
