A house collapsed overnight between Monday and Tuesday in Sehb Elward neighborhood of Fez, without causing any casualties, thanks to a preventive evacuation carried out earlier by the relevant authorities.
According to local sources, the building had been the subject of repeated complaints from residents, who had warned about its deteriorating structural condition and the danger it posed to occupants. These alerts prompted authorities to intervene and evacuate the house before the collapse occurred.
Following the incident, the Wali of the Fez-Meknes region, Khalid Ait Taleb, and the city’s security chief, Mohamed Ouala Ouhtit, visited the site alongside civil protection units and local officials. The area surrounding the collapsed structure was secured and cordoned off to ensure public safety.
