Morocco announces Thursday as first day of Ramadan 1447

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced on Wednesday that the first day of Ramadan 1447 AH will be observed on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

In a statement, the Ministry said it monitored the crescent moon on the evening of Wednesday, 29 Shaaban 1447 AH (February 18, 2026), and confirmed its sighting in accordance with Islamic legal requirements.

The Ministry also extended prayers that the holy month bring blessings and prosperity to King Mohammed VI, the Royal Family, the Moroccan people, and the wider Islamic world.
