The Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, in collaboration with Crédit Agricole du Maroc (CAM), signed a partnership agreement on Thursday to launch a financial education initiative for the beneficiaries of the PADERMO project in Morocco's Oriental region. This agreement was sealed during the International Agriculture Show in Morocco (SIAM) and aligns with the national strategies «Generation Green» and the «development of rural and mountain areas,» according to an official statement.

This initiative underscores «a shared commitment to advancing financial inclusion, supporting the economic empowerment of rural communities, and fostering sustainable income-generating activities.» It aims to «enhance the financial management skills of 10,000 beneficiaries, focusing on budget management, savings, and the responsible use of credit,» the statement added.

To achieve these goals, 400 training sessions are planned across 19 municipalities in the provinces of Oujda-Angad, Berkane, Driouch, and Guercif, with a special emphasis on empowering women and young people.

Furthermore, this program will improve access to financial services and «strengthen the economic viability» of various activities, ultimately aiming to sustainably enhance living conditions in rural areas.
