A heatwave and hot weather are expected from Wednesday to Friday in several Moroccan provinces, with temperatures ranging from 34°C to 42°C, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announced.
According to an orange-level weather alert issued by the DGM, a heatwave with temperatures between 37°C and 42°C will affect the provinces of Ouazzane, Meknès, Fès, Moulay Yaâcoub, Taounate, Sidi Kacem, Khémisset, Sidi Slimane, Khouribga, Fqih Ben Salah, Khénifra, Settat, Youssoufia, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Marrakech, Rehamna, Béni Mellal, Chichaoua and Taroudant from Wednesday to Friday.
Hot weather, with temperatures of 37°C to 42°C, is also forecast for Wednesday and Thursday in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Kénitra, Larache, Benslimane, Nouaceur, Berrechid, Essaouira, Safi, Sidi Bennour, Chtouka-Aït Baha, Guelmim, Inezgane-Aït Melloul and Tiznit.
Temperatures between 34°C and 38°C are also expected in the provinces of Casablanca, Médiouna, Mohammedia, Rabat, Salé, Skhirat-Témara, El Jadida and Sidi Ifni, the bulletin added.
