Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani received a Moroccan delegation on Wednesday led by Karim Zidane, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence, and Public Policy Evaluation, according to the Mauritanian News Agency (AMI).
Following the meeting, the Moroccan official reaffirmed «the commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to strengthening the distinguished ties of fraternity and cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania», Mauritania’s official news agency reported.
Karim Zidane also expressed confidence that Moroccan-Mauritanian relations would gain new momentum in the coming phase.
The meeting was attended by Morocco’s ambassador to Mauritania, Hamid Chabar, as well as Mauritania’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, Abdallahi Souleymane Cheikh Sidiya.
In May 2024, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises and the National Union of Mauritanian Employers held the Morocco-Mauritania Economic Forum in Nouakchott, focusing on strengthening trade and investment ties between the two countries.
