Egyptian-American comedian, television host, actor and former physician Bassem Youssef is bringing his «The Belly of the Beast Tour» to Morocco this June.
In an announcement shared on social media, Youssef revealed that he will perform at the newly inaugurated Royal Theatre in Rabat on June 27. The show, which will be conducted entirely in English, marks his first-ever appearance in Morocco and will serve as the final stop of his European tour.
«The show is in English. I know it's a little bit difficult because you either speak Darija or you speak French, and I don't speak either of them», he joked in a video message announcing the event.
«We will find a common language between us, which is English. I don't know if it's going to work or not, but I am coming to you. I can't wait to see you all. It is my first time in Morocco», he added.

Known for his razor-sharp wit and political satire, Youssef's performance will take audiences on a journey through the contradictions and absurdities of modern life.
Often referred to as the «Jon Stewart of the Arab world», Youssef rose to prominence through Al Bernameg, widely regarded as the first political satire program in the Middle East. The show attracted millions of viewers following the 2011 Egyptian revolution and established him as one of the region's most influential media figures.
In recent years, Youssef has gained international attention for his outspoken support for the Palestinian cause, particularly after his widely viewed television appearances discussing the war in Gaza, including a viral interview with Piers Morgan following the events of October 7, 2023.
