Moroccan youth international Imran Talai signs first professional contract with Ajax

Moroccan youth international Imran Talai has signed his first professional contract with Ajax, committing to the Dutch club until 2029.

The 17-year-old midfielder, who has been part of Ajax’s academy since 2016, described the deal as a «dream come true» after spending nearly a decade progressing through the club’s youth ranks.

Talai, who represents Morocco at youth level, said he sees himself as a versatile player capable of operating in several midfield roles. He highlighted his physical strength, ball control and passing ability, while noting that becoming more aggressive in challenges remains an area for improvement.

Ajax Director of Football Marijn Beuker praised the young Moroccan’s qualities, describing him as a technical midfielder with excellent ball control, a strong left foot and good spatial awareness. He added that Talai’s athletic profile and game intelligence give him the tools to continue developing toward professional football.
