Morocco has selected the teams that will represent the kingdom at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) international competitions after the conclusion of the WRO Morocco 2026 National Championship in Casablanca.
Held on June 20–21 at Elbilia International School in Domaine d’Anfa, the event brought together around 120 teams of young participants aged 6 to 22. Organized by the LOOP For Science & Technology Association in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, the competition challenged contestants to develop robotics projects around this year’s global theme, «Robots Meet Culture».
Participants competed in five categories: RoboMission, Future Innovators, Future Engineers, RoboSports and RoboStarter Kids.
The championship determined the Moroccan teams that will compete at the WRO International Final in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in December 2026. The qualifiers are Mindcraft OSCAR (RoboMission Elementary), ThinkX-Junior (RoboMission Junior), Mindcraft APEX (RoboMission Senior), AtlasRobotics (RoboSports), Innobots (Future Engineers), Hadrino:bit (Future Innovators Junior) and IBM X (Future Innovators Senior).
Additional teams qualified for regional Open Championships. 5.0 FADAA AL MAOUHIBA EL JADIDA ELEMENTARY and Library Assistant will compete in the Americas Championship in Ontario, United States. Mindcraft VECTOR, Alpha Team Kaizen and AUI Robotics Club secured spots at the Europe Championship in Zagreb, Croatia, while 5.1 FADAA AL MAOUHIBA EL JADIDA JUNIOR and THE INVENTORS JUNIOR qualified for the Asia-Pacific Championship in Hyderabad, India.
Organizers said the event celebrated excellence, creativity and teamwork while promoting interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics among Moroccan youth.
Founded in 2018, LOOP For Science & Technology promotes STEAM education among children and young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and serves as Morocco’s national organizer for World Robot Olympiad programs.
