Koeman: Morocco-Netherlands World Cup clash comes «too soon»
DR

Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman believes his side's World Cup Round of 32 clash against Morocco has come «a little too soon», arguing that both teams «ought to go further than this stage» in the tournament.

Speaking ahead of Monday's showdown in Monterrey, Koeman described the encounter as «a very attractive match» and promised an attacking approach.

«They have a lot of talent, but so do we and we know where it is that we need to stop them, break them down, and we are not worried», he said.

Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk singled out Achraf Hakimi as one of the world's best right-backs, while also highlighting Ismael Saibari, Brahim Diaz and 18-year-old midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi as Morocco's main threats.

«They have a lot of good players», he said, adding that the Dutch had prepared thoroughly and were looking forward to «a challenging game». «It's a fantastic game, I think, for neutrals to watch. For us, it's just the reality. We are here now, we prepare for Morocco», he added.
