Moroccan pharmaceutical company Galenica has made its first shipment of medicines to Russia in partnership with Asia Pharm Group. According to Russia's trade representation in Morocco, the shipment marks the company's entry into the market of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Galenica previously obtained Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification and EAC marketing authorizations, enabling it to distribute its medicines across the bloc.
Alexey Andreev, Russia's trade representative in Morocco, described the milestone as a sign of growing cooperation between the two countries. «The development of Morocco's pharmaceutical industry opens up new prospects for expanding Russian-Moroccan cooperation», he said. Beyond exports of Russian medicines and projects to localize their production in Morocco, he added, «conditions are being created for the development of projects supplying Moroccan pharmaceutical products to the Eurasian Economic Union market».
Galenica has thus become the first Moroccan pharmaceutical company authorized to market its medicines across the EAEU. According to the same source, its products are already available in Russia, including treatments for gastrointestinal conditions, cold and flu medications, and other pharmaceutical products.
