Club World Cup : Wydad defeated by Pachuca

The Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) has lost to Pachuca, a Mexican professional football team based in Pachuca, Hidalgo (0-1) on Saturday 9th of December at the Abu Dhabi Zayed Sports City Stadium.

Mexican midfielder Érick Gutiérrez scored a goal during the extra time after the two teams playing at the semi-finals of the Club World Cup coudn't score during the regular time of the match.

The Wydad were reduced to ten men after 69 minutes, when captain Brahim Nekkach collected a second yellow card for a foul on Erick Sánchez.

The winning team will face the Gremio of Brazil who have already arrived in the United Arab Emirates in preparation for the game.

For the record, the Casablanca Red team defeated on the 21st of October the Algerians USM Alger 3-1 and got qualified for the African Champions League Final, an annual continental club football competition run by the Confederation of African Football.
