After the closing of FCB Escola in Casablanca, it is finally in Rabat that the Catalan club will open a new school, the third one in Africa, reports this Monday the Fox Sports website.

The same source spoke about an agreement reached, to be formalized in the coming days, between the football club and the Marita group, headed by entrepreneur Boulgoute Rahhal. This initiative is part of the entrepreneur's own will, «who wanted to give a gift to his sons (fans of Barça), but grant scholarships of 12,000 Euros per month that will be made available by his own company,» says Fox.

The school is expected to open its doors by 2019 and will welcome 400 students between the age of 6 to18 years old every year who, thanks to coaches certified by the Barcelona club, will be able to learn how to play like the a Barca footballer.

For the record, FC Barcelona announced in August in a statement the closing of its football academy in Casablanca, FCB Escola, following two years of operations. The club did not indicate the reasons behind the termination of its contract with the local company in charge of the management of the academy. It has been disclosed however, that the club did not have, at the moment, any «official sporting project on the Moroccan soil», and proceeded to warn local clubs against the temptation to use its trademarked name without an authorization.
