Portuguese football Cristiano Ronaldo held a press conference on Monday 16th of July, addressing media for the first time since his transfer from Real Madrid.
When asked about being in the same football club as Morocco’s national team captain Medhi Benatia the Ballon d’Or five-time winner said :
«We fought hard and he’s a great defender. We had some clashes during the World Cup but that’s part of the game. It will be interesting to play for the same club and have him as a teammate. He’s an outstanding player»
The two players had already played against each other at the World Cup in the Portugal-Morocco game. «I'm glad I'll be with him in the same team», he added.
The 33-year-old forward has left Spain's Real Madrid to join Italian club Juventus for a reported fee of 105 million euros signing a four-year contract. He is expected to start trainings with his teammates at the end of this month.
