500 Moroccan nationals took the streets, Saturday, in Brussels to show solidarity for Hirak detainees. They were peacefully protesting against the arrest and sentencing of Hirak activists in Morocco, reports German-language daily Grenz Echo.

The same source recalled that the Moroccan justice convicted many activists for undermining the state’s security. In June 2018, Hirak leader Nasser Zefzafi was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Several European cities have been home, since 2017, to protests held to support the detainees.

Visited by their families on Wednesday at the Casablanca local prison (Oukacha), Hirak detainees who did not benefit from the recent royal pardon called for a general amnesty.

For the record, on the Revolution Day, August 20th, King Mohammed VI pardoned 188 detainees, including 11 others who were serving prison terms linked to the Hirak.
