Morocco doubles Iraq in the new British series «Baghdad Central»

British Drama series «Baghdad Central» is currently filming on location in Morocco, which stands as Iraq, reported KfTV on Thursday.

The six-part series is produced by UK-based Euston Films and is based on a novel by American writer Elliott Colla. Baghdad Central tells the story of an Iraqi «ex-policeman who has lost his home, his wife and his career and is battling to keep himself and his ailing daughter safe», wrote Deadline.

Morocco doubles Baghdad in the series, especially the period after the summer of 2003, six months after the US-led invasion.

The Moroccan desert is known for attracting movie and series directors looking for a suitable location, depicting the Middle Eastern environment.

The latest film of American series «Jack Ryan» has been partially shot in Morocco, reportsteh same source. The movie’s crew filmed part of the Kingdom as «a range of Middle Eastern story settings».

The American film series is based on the character of Jack Ryan, a CIA analyst who has been to a couple of espionage adventures in Europe and the Middle East.
