Morocco is canceling customs duty on soft wheat, starting from the 1st of November, reports Reuters quoting the Kingdom’s ministry of agriculture.

The decision, which will have to be approved by the government council, will allow importers to «better plan reserves», added the ministry.

«The duty cancellation would ensure regular supply in light of the slow pace of the collection of national output», said the ministry in a statement relayed by the British news agency.

For the record, Morocco recorded an exceptional cereal output this year, amounting 10.3 million tones.

The Kingdom has advised millers to purchase local wheat instead of importing it from May to October.
