Brussels : Pro-halal slaughter demonstration by Belgian Muslims

In the Belgian capital, about 150 Muslims demonstrated Saturday afternoon to defend the halal ritual slaughter, Sud Info reports.

The demonstrations took place at around 3 p.m in front of the Courthouse of Brussels, to ask to be able to continue practicing the ritual slaughter, chanting the slogan «we are Muslims, we want to eat halal», the same source said.

For the record, the law prohibiting ritual slaughters, in particular the ones carried out according to Jewish and Muslim rites, has entered into application in Flanders on the 1st of January 2019. The Walloon region will do the same from the 1st of September of the current year.
