A group of Sub-Saharan illegal immigrants tried on Sunday morning to climb the fence separating the north-eastern locality of Ouled M'hammed (province of Nador) from the city of Melillia, said local authorities.

Public forces intervened to foil this assault and arrested 40 illegal immigrants while 50 others climbed the guarded fence to gain entry into the autonomous city, the source added.

Seven elements of public forces and two Sub-Saharan immigrants were injured and rushed into Nador's provincial hospital to receive the necessary health care.
