Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini thanked, Thursday, the Moroccan authorities for arresting an Italian mafia leader.
On his twitter account, the politician who serves as the country’s Interior Minister said that «twelve mafia members were arrested in Enna and Palermo, while in Morocco a dangerous fugitive from the Polverino de la Camorra clan was arrested».
Indeed, Moroccan police announced this week that a 56-year-old Italian national suspected of being one of the bosses of Italian mafia la Camorra was arrested, Wednesday, in Tangier.

In his tweet, Salvini thanked the Italian police and the «authorities in Rabat».
For the record, the arrested is suspected of committing criminal acts, including blackmail, violence, intentional homicide and international trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances. The Italian national was arrested on an international arrest warrant issued by Italian judicial authorities and an Interpol Red Notice, national police said in a statement.
The man has been remanded in custody pending the completion of investigations and examination of the extradition procedure to Italian judicial authorities.
